“The May 1, 2020 camp registration deadline is something that everyone should remember, but we also offer an early bird pricing option until March 1, 2020. It is a nice way to save some money and guarantee yourself a spot,” says Cameron Horner, 4-H communications and marketing specialist with Alberta Agriculture and Forestry.
4-H Alberta is again offering 7 provincial camps that offer an opportunity for youth to meet new people and is a great way to experience 4-H at a different level.
4-H camps focus on meeting important objectives and research-based skills and attitudes that are central tenants with the positive youth development model. Throughout their time at camp, members learn and practice the skills, values, competencies and attitudes of teamwork, relationships and competence.
“The camps are topic specific, and most of them are done at our Alberta 4-H Centre,” adds Horner. “It really enhances the outdoor activity level and includes many camping activities. Of course they all have copious amounts of fun with all their 4-H friends.”
Many of the 7 4-H regions run summer camps as well if members want the same camp experience that is closer to home.
