Researchers with Alberta Agriculture and Forestry are hosting two pulse crop walks – Thursday, July 18 at the Namao research plots and Friday, July 19 at the Vegreville research plots.

The walks take place 9:00 to 11:00 am both days, and topics include:

  • Pulse industry overview
  • Pre-registered field pea, lentil and faba bean lines
  • Pulse regional variety trials
  • Disease update

There will be time for questions and discussions concerning pulses.

To get to the Namao research plots from Edmonton, travel north on Hwy 28, turn west onto Hwy 37, travel 4.7 km to RR 250 and turn north, go 1.7 km to TWP RD 551 and turn east. Site is located 1.5 miles east on TWP RD 551 and is on the right hand side of the road. Watch for crop walk signs the day of the tour.

To get to the Vegreville research plots, travel on Hwy 16 east of Vegreville and past Lavoy. Turn south on Hwy 36, go 7.2 km or 4.5 miles to TWP Rd 510 and turn west. Drive to RR 132 and turn south for half-mile or 0.8 km. Entrance is on east side of the road. Watch for crop walk signs the day of the tour.
