Ben Campbell is a third generation rancher from Black Diamond, Alberta. Ben currently sits on the board of the Foothills Forage and Grazing Association. Ben and his family host numerous customers as well as school groups out to their ranch throughout the year to show them how food is produced in Alberta and provide a connection between consumers and their food.
Lynn Jacobson farms with his brother in Enchant in southern Alberta on a 1,500-acre irrigation farm growing cereal crops, pulses, hybrid seed canola and alfalfa for seed production. He is currently president of the Alberta Federation of Agriculture and a director with the Canadian Federation of Agriculture.
Doug Sawyer currently runs a cow/calf and horse operation in Central Alberta and has over 30 years of experience working within the livestock industry. Doug has served on national and provincial agricultural boards and committees related to beef production, traceability, animal welfare, and the environment for over 22 years.
Stanley Church, Q.C.
A lawyer born and raised on a cattle ranch near Balzac, Stan is a long-time cattle rancher and active in the ranching industry, operating a large commercial cow-calf operation. Stan has been President of the Canadian Simmental Association and the Alberta Cattle Breeders Association and Director on the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association. He was most recently involved on the Alberta Regional Board of the Nature Conservancy of Canada and on the Bethany Care Foundation Board.
An experienced agricultural professional with first-hand experience as a farm operator and manager, Trish has been a member of many agriculture industry organizations and is currently a director with the United Farmers of Alberta.
Julie grew up on a mixed farm and has been involved in the agriculture industry her entire life. Prior to becoming an industry consultant Julie was instrumental in the development and implementation of the National Livestock Identification and Traceability System for Animal Health and Food Safety in Canada. Before this, Julie managed a number of programs for industry organizations primarily focused on Genetic Improvement, Research and Education, and Value Chain initiatives.
