AER Designated Oil Sands Area (PDF, 1.8 MB) 2017 shows the designated oil sands areas with the related Deeper Rights Reversion Zone Designation (DRRZD).

Zone Designations (ZD) and Deeper Rights Reversion (DRRZD)
ZDs and DRRZDs are used to describe mineral rights for agreements administration. DRRZD allows for petroleum and natural gas rights below the base of the of the deepest productive zone to be deleted from an agreement and returned to the land bank. ZDs describe specific intervals or zones proven capable of producing gas in paying quantities.
