Slave Lake wildfire (2011)
The Flat Top Complex group of three wildfires burned 22,000 hectares in the Lesser Slave Lake area in May 2011, including two that destroyed over 500 structures in the Town of Slave Lake and nearby communities.

Alberta floods (2013)
The largest and most expensive natural disaster in Alberta's history. Almost 100,000 people, 10,000 homes and a substantial amount of infrastructure were affected by flooding that spanned 50,000 square kilometres.
