The legislation, guidelines, policies, information letters and bulletins.

Introduction

Alberta Energy encourages the responsible development of the province's minerals through planning and liaison with government, industry and communities. This ensures competitive tenure and royalty regimes are attractive to investors.

It also ensures appropriate mining regulations and environmental protection are in place. The department issues and administers permits and leases on Crown lands and collects royalties.
