Laila Goodridge was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in the Fort McMurray-Conklin by-election, which was held July 12, 2018. She was re-elected to represent the constituency of Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche on April 16, 2019.
Ms. Goodridge currently serves as chair of the Standing Committee on Families and Communities. She is also a member of the Special Standing Committee on Members’ Services and the Standing Committee on Legislative Offices.
Prior to her election, Ms. Goodridge worked for Members of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. She has also previously worked for the Minister of the Environment in Ottawa and spent almost five years working in the oil sands in Fort McMurray.
Ms. Goodridge’s community involvement has included a variety of roles within both provincial and federal political boards and she’s an active volunteer within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
She is fluent in French and holds a bachelor of arts degree from University of Alberta’s Campus Saint-Jean.
Ms. Goodridge was born and raised in Fort McMurray, the community she represents today. She enjoys baking, cooking, gardening and reading.
