Building an Emergency Response Plan for Your Food Business or Farmers’ Market webinar takes place Thursday, January 16 at 10 am.
Farmers’ markets are a business incubator and market opportunity utilized by well over 3,000 Alberta businesses through more than 140 Alberta approved farmers’ markets. The farmers' market landscape in Alberta is complex with nearly half operating in outdoor settings. This webinar will provide the foundation needed for each market and vendor to develop their own emergency response plans so that all market leaders and vendors are better prepared in the event of an emergency.
Thursday, February 6 is the date of the Living the Food Recall Experience webinar.
Food recalls are becoming more common, with new ones issued by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency on a daily basis. It is critical that operators are equipped to work through the stress of a recall and are prepared to follow steps to mitigate the risk of a recall and lessen the losses, which can occur during a food recall incident. Nicola Irving, with Irvings Farm Fresh, will share their story of a food recall that impacted their sales, relationships with customers and suppliers and continues to affect how they do business today.
