Facility Condition Index (FCI)

All major health facilities undergo an independent audit, approximately every five years, to assist in planning long-term maintenance and repair.

The current FCI is for changes in 2012-2013.

A new health FCI will be available soon 2018-2019.

Facility condition evaluation

To evaluate the condition of Alberta’s health facilities, ongoing reviews are done in five-year cycles.

The evaluation report generated from each review provides a "snapshot" of the physical condition and building systems at that specific point in time.

The review anticipates the amount and cost of maintenance work that may be required over the next five years to keep the health facility in optimal condition.

Facility evaluation reports

Health and safety of public facilities are a priority. Any situation or condition that would impact patient, staff or visitor safety, or program operation are addressed immediately and are not reflected in the evaluation report.
