In 2000, Alberta Infrastructure/Transportation conducted a driver behaviour study. Two measures of driver behaviour were analyzed: adherence to speed limits and adherence to safe following times. The study found that drivers of larger vehicles travel slower and have greater following times than drivers of smaller vehicles. Findings are presented for the time of day, and for the volume and speed of traffic.
