Champions of Agriculture and Forests

We’re champions of Alberta’s agriculture and forest sectors, standing with them to ensure their continued success and future growth.

Agriculture and Forestry are two of Alberta’s foundational industries. Together, we’re well positioned to meet the growing global demand for our agri-food and forest products.

With Champions of Agriculture and Forests, we’re proud to share our science-based, sustainable management practices in order to improve consumer confidence, and foster an environment for increased investment, thereby ensuring the long-term health and resiliency of these renewable industries.

Agriculture represents Alberta’s largest sustainable industry. It employs more than 75,000 Albertans and exports more than $11.6 billion in primary and value-added products.

Public forests are an integral part of Alberta’s social fabric, culture and economy. Healthy forests provide multiple environmental, community and economic benefits to all; sustainable forest management practices ensure that Alberta’s forests are healthy and resilient for generations to come.

Forestry is a sustainable, renewable resource sector and Alberta’s third largest industry. It supports 946 small businesses and 58 medium/large businesses, which employs about 40,000 Albertans.
