Canada Marine Act Review Submission of the Western Provinces 2002
The federal Minister of Transport is required, by virtue of section 144 of the Canada Marine Act, to complete a review of the "provisions and operations" of the act during the fifth year after it received Royal Assent. Thus, on May 26, 2002, the Honourable David Collenette announced a review. The review is to be completed by June 2003. The 4 Western Provinces worked together in the fall of 2002 to prepare a joint CMA Review response.

On June 4, 2003, the federal Transport Minister announced the completion of the report on the review of the Canada Marine Act in the House of Commons. More information about the Canada Marine Act are available at http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/acts-regulations/acts-1998c10.htm.
