Alberta Agriculture and Forestry (AF) is organizing a trade mission to BIOFACH, the world’s leading trade fair for organic food products, and Vivaness, the natural and organic personal care tradeshow, in Nuremberg, Germany from February 12 to 15, 2020.
Opportunity for Alberta companies
The project will target Alberta exporters of organic foods, ingredients and cosmetic products interested in pursuing opportunities in Germany and the EU.
AF is offering a walking program that will include an educational component, store tours and introduction to German/European importers/distributors and Canadian trade commissioners. The mission will also be a good opportunity for companies to gather competitive intelligence and offer exposure to new products and marketing ideas.
Germany is the leading organic market in Europe with organic food sales reaching over €10 billion in 2018. The EU is a sophisticated and innovative market, with an affluent and diverse population who is willing to pay a premium price for high-quality and safe food/cosmetic products.
To be eligible for this mission, participating companies should be currently exporting.
Application deadline to walk the show is January 11, 2020.
- Companies are responsible to cover travel expenses costs - flights, accommodation, meals, incidentals, trade show passes, transportation, etc.
- Trade show passes will only be provided for exhibitors.
Companies interested in funding support for this activity may be eligible for partial recovery of travel expenses through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership Program under Products to Market – Stream B.
