“TEBA and ATA have received a Mediator’s recommendation to settle central bargaining with Alberta’s teachers. This Mediator’s recommendation comes after months of dedicated negotiations.
“I respect the role teachers play in our province – they are instrumental in the lives of young Albertans. Their hard work and dedication is admirable.
“I also thank both the ATA and TEBA for their efforts, and for working towards an agreement that will form the basis of labour stability in the education system, if ratified.
“Out of respect for the union’s ratification process I’m unable to speak to the specifics of the potential deal at this time, but I look forward to the results of the ratification vote.”
