“On Intergenerational Day, we recognize and celebrate the deep and important connections between generations.
“This special day reminds us how important it is to build awareness, understanding and harmony between people of all ages.
“We all benefit if we learn from each other and discover the values and interests we have in common.“As we continue our efforts to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot yet sit across the table and connect with an older mentor for coffee or lunch.
“However, there are other ways to be in touch and to sustain that vital connection with someone of a different generation. Give them a call, set up a video chat or visit safely outdoors. Their wise counsel means so much.”
“Intergenerational Day is an important reminder to take the time to connect, in a safe way, between generations. Although it may look different this year, I encourage Alberta’s students to reach out to people from different generations, hear their stories and share perspectives. There is so much we can learn from each other regardless of our ages. Enjoy the journey.”
