“It is three years since a truck crashed into the bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team. For the families of the 16 people who died, and for the 13 who were injured and those who survived, I’m sure it seems like yesterday.

“The tragedy touched us all – first, for the terrible and senseless loss of life, or life as people knew it, and then as we realized it could well have been any of us. Many of us have been on buses as a group or watched loved ones climb on board.

“The struggles, triumphs, tributes and generosity shown by and to the survivors in the three years since the crash are both humbling and inspiring. Even in these difficult times, the legacy of compassion and giving stands out as an example to all of us.

“On this third anniversary, we continue to thank everyone connected to the Humboldt Broncos for the resilience, hope and love they continue to share with dignity and grace.”
