“During the week of March 7-13, Alberta’s government is happy to recognize Social Work Week 2021.

“This week we recognize the hard work, dedication and valuable contributions of our province’s registered social workers. Their efforts are needed more than ever. Working in extreme and uncertain conditions through the pandemic, social workers and their colleagues have stepped up to the challenge with their unwavering commitment, empathy and professionalism.

“Social Work Week is an opportunity for all of us to offer our appreciation and gratitude to those in the social work field who help vulnerable Albertans deal with many of the challenges they face.

“Social workers play a crucial role supporting families to keep children, youth, victims of domestic violence and the homeless safe, and help people with disabilities reach their potential. Their efforts continue to help Albertans find a path to a brighter future.

“As we celebrate this week, we are proud to recognize social workers. Please join Alberta’s government, communities and families in recognizing the more than 7,000 social workers during Alberta Social Work Week 2021.”
