“Let’s face it, men’s health issues can be difficult to talk about.

“From prostate and testicular cancer, to mental health and suicide – some topics are just not part of everyday face-to-face conversations. But they need to be.

“That’s why, gentlemen, I challenge you to put down your razor and embrace Movember.

“Every November since 2003, men have grown their facial hair to support prevention, research and awareness of health issues affecting us. Sporting your Mo (mustache) may have started in recognition of the many cancer patients who lose their hair, but the Mo has grown into a healthy conversation starter.

“During the pandemic many men are facing unexpected challenges including financial pressures and unemployment. Please remember that confidential addiction and mental health supports are available 24-7 across the province.

“This November, I challenge you to bring on the goatees, handlebars, Santa beards and sideburns. Start a conversation – raise some dough with your Mo – or put on your sneakers to support your bro!

“Together, we can change the face of men’s health.”
