“This week, Albertans and Canadians are raising awareness of the many ways their communities are made stronger and happier by people with Down Syndrome, and of the work that lies ahead to make sure the world is a welcoming place for everyone.

“Albertans with Down Syndrome face many challenges as they contribute to society and follow their dreams. With the support of family and friends, they learn, love, work and lead full lives with a joyful dedication that makes this province a better place.

“I encourage everyone to learn more about Down Syndrome from those who experience it every day. This is also a time to honour our family members, friends, neighbours and coworkers with Down Syndrome whose talents and hard work remind us that every Albertan deserves the chance to succeed.”
