The Bow River Seniors Lodge redevelopment will add 60 new housing units intended to support seniors to remain in their community, as their health-care needs change. The designated supportive living units at Bow River will offer 24-hour on-site nursing care and specialized dementia care.
The project will create about 124 jobs.
The budget for the new 60 units is $16.9 million. Alberta’s government will provide $10 million in capital funding through Seniors and Housing and $6 million for the specialized care through the Alberta Supportive Living Initiative.
Bow Valley Regional Housing, the housing operator, will provide $900,000.

These new suites provide a welcome relief that our seniors will no longer have to leave the Bow Valley to receive these critical services. It is so important that Bow Valley seniors are able to continue to live in their home community, even as their medical support needs increase.”
