“During the week of March 1-7, our government is pleased to recognize Social Work Week 2020.
“Social Work Week is a time to recognize the hard work and immense contributions of registered social workers and their colleagues. It is an opportunity for us to offer our genuine gratitude to this group of dedicated professionals who help Albertans deal with many of life’s challenges.
“There are more than 7,500 social workers in the province, many of whom work in the Alberta Public Service. In Children’s Services, we see the incredible and often difficult work social workers and their colleagues do every day on behalf of vulnerable children, youth and families to help ensure a brighter future for all Albertans.
“As we celebrate this week, we are proud to recognize social workers by lighting up the Alberta legislature in magenta on Wednesday, March 2. Please join our government, communities and families in recognizing Social Work Week 2020.”
