Production limits in August will be set at 3.74 million barrels per day, an increase of 25,000 barrels a day from the July limit. Letters from the Minister of Energy have been sent to each curtailed operator advising of the change.

The first 10,000 barrels per day a company produces are exempt from production limits, meaning only 29 of more than 300 producers in Alberta are subject to the production limits.
