Location: Edmonton, Alberta
The Philippine Bayanihan Association in Alberta has been reaching out and delivering food to seniors and others who are self-isolating or do not want to leave their home because of the pandemic. For the past 3 weeks, a small group of around 10 volunteers have delivered more than 200 meals to those in need in the Edmonton area.
After work they get together to pack bags consisting of canned goods, rice and toilet paper and deliver them. Thanks to the efforts of the Philippine Bayanihan Association of Alberta, Edmontonians who are forced to stay home have a safe option for daily necessities and a vital link to their community.
