COVID-19 Updates: Taking steps to return to normal.
On February 25, he was recognized for helping vulnerable seniors and being a virtual support volunteer.
Location: Calgary, Alberta
With COVID-19 putting a halt to his own studies at Queen’s University in Kingston, and upon arriving back home in Calgary, Mina Fahim immediately turned his attention to his community. With a passion and dedication to public health, Mina is a volunteer at the Kerby Centre, supporting vulnerable seniors by assisting with grocery shopping and delivery.
As a student who has experienced first-hand the impacts of COVID on those trying to complete their education, Mina has also signed on as one of the University of Calgary’s virtual support volunteers. He uses his experience to help others by working to build a sense of community among students and helping them connect to services and supports – to help them through challenging times.
Honour the contributions of an amazing individual or group.
