On April 22, she was recognized for giving her time and talents to support Strathmore District Health Services.
Location: Strathmore, Alberta
Though Alberta’s hospitals have always played a critical role in our communities, the COVID-19 pandemic has shone an even brighter light on just how vital these facilities are to both patients and their families. Mardelle Romona Bazant has always known this, and at age 90, she continues to volunteer her time and talents to help the Strathmore District Health Services facility deliver those services to the community.
For more than 35 years, Mardelle has volunteered as secretary-treasurer for the Strathmore District Health Services Auxiliary and the Strathmore District Health Services Foundation, and she has taken on the president’s duties when called upon. As secretary-treasurer, Mardelle has written numerous grant submissions, organized bake and craft sales, and worked casino and many other fundraisers. All told, Mardelle has played a key role in raising more than $1 million in support of local healthcare delivery.
Honour the contributions of an amazing individual or group.
