As manager of the local gas station in Claresholm, Manpreet Singh knows the importance of topping up the tank before going on a long journey. When residents of the southern Alberta community faced the rocky road of pandemic, Manpreet stepped up to fuel community spirit and ensure that the pantries of some of the community’s most vulnerable residents weren’t running on empty.

Along with delivering groceries to seniors, essential workers, students and single moms, Manpreet offered up free masks and hand sanitizer to many of his customers. Recognizing the toll of the pandemic on the mental health of elderly Claresholm residents, Manpreet donated ice cream to seniors’ facilities and extended the same courtesy to the rest of the community in celebration of Canada Day.

When a massive spring grass fire raced across the dry prairie landscape, Manpreet joined the community effort to support those impacted by the blaze and those fighting the flames, providing basic essentials from the service station’s convenience store. By standing with the community during difficult times, Manpreet has demonstrated that the ride down the road of life is a lot smoother and more enjoyable when you share a little premium kindness.
