Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta
Ken Dalida is the owner of Ken’s Catering and The Venue in Fort Saskatchewan. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many Albertans have been accessing the services of food banks, and food banks have been struggling to keep up with demand. In response to shortages at the Fort Saskatchewan food bank, Ken created the Feeding the Fort program. Any family in need can contact him and pick up a free meal once a week.
Ken has also started selling soup to go and donating $1 from every purchase to the Fort Saskatchewan food bank. So far, $2,000 has been donated to the food bank from this program. Through his efforts to support people in his community, Ken demonstrates strong community spirit.
