COVID-19 Updates: Taking steps to return to normal.
On April 28, she was recognized for delivering groceries to a self-isolating senior couple and for offering them ongoing assistance.
Location: Cochrane, Alberta
A senior couple in Cochrane contacted the Helping Hands Society of Cochrane and Area looking for assistance. They had no family in the area and were choosing to self-isolate because of risk factors, including medical conditions and age. They also needed help with ordering and picking up groceries.
A program manager at Helping Hands helped the couple navigate the process of ordering groceries – and Kathy Love, a volunteer driver, offered to make the delivery. She was quick to offer her help and also offered ongoing assistance to the couple.
With the help of volunteers like Kathy, Helping Hands is ensuring that vulnerable Albertans have access to essential goods and are connected to their communities. The society links people who help with people who need help.
Honour the contributions of an amazing individual or group.
