Location: Stony Plain, Alberta
The Stony Plain Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) and Volunteer Centres offer the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, which prepares tax returns for low-income residents. When Jan joined the FCSS Income Tax Program, she was looking for a way to give back to her community and use her existing skills.
Jan has continued to volunteer her time during the COVID-19 pandemic, knowing that many members of her community will need assistance filing their taxes so there is no delay in accessing benefits. According to Jan, “Stony Plain FCSS and Volunteer Centre are important to the community, and I am proud to be part of this team.”
