It’s been said that kindness is like a pebble tossed into a pool, with a single act of concern creating ripples reaching out to touch many lives. If that is the case, then Gail Thompson is the force behind a tidal wave of caring in her hometown of Medicine Hat.
With her own health keeping her close to home, Gail decided to use COVID-19 down time and her own creativity to bring a bit of joy to essential workers in the community. Introduced to the art of rock painting by a friend, Gail has taken to decorating stones with an array of characters to cheer those who have worked through the risk of the pandemic. Staff at the local supermarket, postal workers and members of the medical team at the local hospital have received a “pet rock” with a personality. Thank you, Gail, for bringing a smile to those who give so much themselves. You’re a real gem!
