Location: Edmonton, Alberta
As an organization serving youth experiencing homelessness, Edmonton’s Youth Empowerment and Support Services (YESS) needed masks for its staff and clients. The organization put out the call for fabric masks to help protect youth and workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Earthgroove Activewear, an Edmonton-based athletic gear company, answered the call.
The team at YESS had no idea that they would receive such high-quality, special masks. Earthgroove designed masks with three layers of fabric and made them in different sizes for more comfortable wear. They also had a special fabric designed with the YESS logo to help the youth and staff feel at ease. Overall, Earthgroove Activewear has donated 200 of these unique masks to YESS, which are helping to protect the most vulnerable in the city and the frontline workers supporting them.
