At the beginning of COVID-19, many Albertans, especially low-income families and individuals, were concerned about food shortages. The Citadel International Church felt it was important to support their members and non-members.
Through its Facebook page, the church asked Edmontonians to reach out if they needed groceries. Members of the church were able to deliver staples to several families, including two weeks of groceries to a single mother with six children. To continue supporting families that need extra support, congregants are making follow-up visits to ensure vulnerable community members have basic necessities and are cared for by members of their community.
