Flush all water-using fixtures for 5 minutes. b. Run all cold water faucets and drinking fountains for 5 minutes before using the water. c. Drain and flush ice-making systems in your refrigerator. d. Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle. e. Drain and refill hot water heaters set below 45 degrees C (normal setting is 60 degrees C). f. Drain all cisterns and flush with clean water. g. Backwash pool filters and change media or water.
