Government is investing $75,000 in the Crystal Kids Youth Centre to assist with additional staff and other costs for delivering intervention and prevention programs to Edmonton’s inner-city children.

The Crystal Kids Youth Centre serves children aged six to 19 who are disadvantaged at home and marginalized in the community. The organization provides nutrition, literacy and educational supports, life-skills coaching, and athletic and artistic programming that help children make healthy life choices. The centre served 606 kids in 2018.

We work with over 260 at-risk children annually. We liberate children from the shackles of hunger and neglect by providing nutrition and critical mentoring. Our mentoring builds capacity, bolstering their resolve to defeat the enemy of generational poverty. This grant will make it possible for Crystal Kids to continue this invaluable work.”
Budget 2019 invests $61.2 million in the Community Grants Program for non-profits to deliver social, recreational and cultural programs and support to Albertans.
