“On Nov. 20, our government is pleased to recognize National Child Day and mark the 30th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

“National Child Day celebrates the right of children to grow, learn and be safe, and to have a voice in issues that affect them. National Child Day reminds us that every child is special and that every child matters. I encourage everyone to get involved in National Child Day events and activities and to help educate our children about their rights.

“The values that inform National Child Day are reflected in the ongoing work of Children’s Services. This is work that, at its core, is about the well-being and healthy development of the children we serve, so that they can lead happy, meaningful lives. It is both our duty and our privilege to help children discover their path to a bright future.

“Please join our government, communities, families — and most especially, Alberta’s children — in recognizing National Child Day 2019.”
