Residents and businesses throughout southern Alberta will benefit as the many infrastructure projects provided for in government’s 2019 Capital Plan promote economic development, create jobs and help support social programs and services.

Communities have access to the modern facilities and other infrastructure they need, local jobs are supported and the resulting economic boost positively affects all Alberta families and businesses.”
Quick facts
- The 2019 Capital Plan carries through on previous infrastructure commitments and provides for a number of new projects, such as:
- Seven school projects in Brooks, Dunmore, Iron Springs, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Taber and Tilley
- Supportive living in Bassano
- Cultural and recreation projects such as Castle Provincial Park upgrades and William Watson Lodge in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park
- Flood-mitigation/recovery in High River and at the Canmore Hospital
- Other multi-year projects, including the Kananaskis Emergency Services Centre, University of Lethbridge Destination Project, the Medicine Hat Hospital, planning for the Brooks Crop Diversification Centre South, and upgrades to the Interfaith Food Bank in Lethbridge
