This release was issued under a previous government.

The southbound passing lane on Highway 40, 10 kilometres south of Grande Prairie, will be closed for engineering work beginning March 4. The speed limit on this section of the highway will be reduced to 50 kilometres per hour to ensure worker safety. Two-way traffic will be maintained, but traffic may be delayed while work continues.

This engineering work is required in advance of the eventual twinning of an 18-kilometre stretch of Highway 40 between Grande Prairie and the Norbord Plant south of town.

The work is expected to be complete by March 10, weather permitting.
