The spirit of Alberta shines through our people; people who inspire each other to realize possibilities and every-day people who become our heroes and stars.

Sport: Bobsleigh
Residence: Sylvan Lake, Alberta
Born: November 1980

Because of the extreme situations we face, lessons learned can be applied to your sport or life in general.

A day in the life of an elite athlete is really no different than anyone else’s; we all work hard to be the best that we can be at our jobs. I train hard, eat well, sleep well and also put in time at my other job as a real estate agent.

I moved to Alberta to take advantage of the world-class training facilities, which were a direct result of the ’88 Winter Olympics in Calgary. The facilities and the community support is great.
I really can’t pinpoint one specific proud moment because every time I compete for Canada, it is a proud moment for me.

What I’ve learned about leadership in sport is that sport is a microcosm of life; stress is magnified, and because of the extreme situations we face, lessons learned can be applied to your sport or life in general.

The best advice I can impart to young athletes is, make it fun.
