Alberta's Role in Sport Development

Recognizing the tremendous and life-long benefits of being involved in sport, the Government of Alberta, through the Alberta, Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation (ASRPWF), proudly offers Alberta’s developing athletes a number of opportunities to develop and compete with the best in a multi-sport environment. The spirit of the following provincial and national multi-sport competitions lives on with athletes, volunteers and spectators long after the events are over and the lights dim on the closing ceremonies. |
Alberta Sport Development Centre Network

Athletes are developed, not born. Alberta develops its emerging athletes and coaches through a provincial network of Alberta Sport Development Centres. These Centres give promising sport participants a wide variety of coordinated services in their own regions, allowing them to train at a high level closer to home. All the Centres are affiliated with the Canadian Sport Centre - Calgary. Services include:
The network was established by the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation in partnership with Sport Canada, Canadian Sport Centre Calgary, Grande Prairie Regional College, Keyano College, Medicine Hat College, Red Deer College, University of Alberta and the Community of Lethbridge. |
