This release was issued under a previous government.
Projects in Cold Lake, Anzac and Fort Chipewyan will each receive $70,000. Funding will be administered by the Alberta Rural Development Network, which works to support and enhance the well-being of rural communities through collaboration and partnership.

“ARDN recognizes that rural homelessness is a serious issue. Many people are unaware of the impact the wildfire had on our rural communities. This funding will assist some of those unsung heroes in smaller neighbouring communities who continue to help displaced Albertans left homeless even today.”
This funding is part of the Alberta Government’s commitment to support those affected by the northern Alberta wildfire. It is in addition to the $30.3 million contributed by the province to support wildfire recovery efforts and the almost $100 million distributed for wildfire emergency relief funding.
