The Government of Alberta is investing over $1.7 million through the Family and Community Safety Program to strengthen the work being done by Child Advocacy Centres, police services and other community groups to stop child sexual abuse and provide young people with safe, caring and healthy environments.
“Violence and abuse in any form are unacceptable. We will continue to support and work with our community partners to stop child sexual abuse and exploitation from happening. It is a priority to ensure that all survivors have a place to turn for help.”

“The Zebra Child Protection Centre operates on a promise to the community to offer support and stability for survivors of child abuse. The funding from Human Services not only allows us to increase our capacity to accommodate the rise in our caseload, but to work collaboratively with other Child Advocacy Centres in the region to ensure every child in Northern Alberta is given equal access to support services.”
Grant funding will support the three existing Child Advocacy Centres in Calgary, Edmonton and Grande Prairie, as well as four emerging centres in Fort McMurray, Lethbridge, Lloydminster and Red Deer.
