Alberta Citizenship Awards

Students who volunteer and provide public service to their communities can be nominated for 3 awards, including 2 scholarships.

Introduction

In honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, the Government of Alberta offers 3 awards, including 2 with scholarships, to recognize students who have contributed to their communities through public service, volunteering and the arts.

The Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Recognition Act changed the name of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Awards to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Awards in 2022.

This award commends outstanding Alberta students for service in their communities – and receiving it is a requirement for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Citizenship Award and the Alberta Centennial Award.

These awards recognize outstanding young Albertans who demonstrate leadership and community service, or talent in performing and visual arts.
