Hand-up Plan - 2013 Small business recovery programs
The Hand-up Plan provides immediate financial assistance for the following types of organizations severely affected by the June 2013 floods in southern Alberta and in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo:
- small businesses
- agricultural producers
- First Nation enterprises
- self-employed contractors
These groups - including more than 1,500 businesses and nearly 400 not-for profits - are helping communities recover.
Government is working in partnership with financial institutions and the Agricultural Financial Services Corporation (AFSC) to provide low-interest loans partially guaranteed by the province as well as interest rebates to affected organizations.
Note: Applications are being accepted now until June 30, 2014.
Flood Recovery Programs
Low-interest loans up to $1 million through participating financial institutions and the Agricultural Financial Services Corporation.
Rebates of 4 per cent interest to those participating in the Alberta Flood Recovery Loan Guarantee Program.
