Alberta Sheriffs from the Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) unit at a closed property in Edmonton.
A Community Safety Order (CSO) granted against the owner of 9103 - 137 Avenue gives SCAN the authority to close the property and bar any occupants from the house for 90 days.

SCAN launched its investigation in April 2016, after receiving a complaint that the occupants of the house – the owner and his girlfriend – were involved in drug activity. SCAN investigators substantiated the complaint and served the owner with a warning letter. Further investigation revealed that the property was also being used for prostitution-related activities and that drug activity was continuing.
In May 2016, SCAN called the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) for assistance after observing an alleged drug deal between the female resident and a man who arrived by car. A subsequent police traffic stop resulted in the seizure of 71 fentanyl pills, 25.5 grams of methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and cash. The driver was charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
On Nov. 15, 2016, SCAN obtained a CSO in Court of Queen’s Bench. In addition to barring occupants from the property for 90 days, the order bans any visitors to the property for one year.
