This release was issued under a previous government.

The charges stem from an aerial spraying in June 2013 near Falher. The company applied a pesticide to farmland without the required registration. Aerial spraying has the potential to cause environmental damage and so the Government of Alberta requires that pesticide service providers are appropriately trained and equipped.

The company pleaded guilty on June 8, 2016, to one count under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act.

Alberta Environment and Parks focuses on education, prevention and enforcement to ensure that all Albertans enjoy a clean and healthy environment. When individuals or companies fail to comply with legislation, Environment and Parks has a range of options, depending on the offence, to ensure compliance.
