“Today, we celebrate credit unions, as well as the contributions and achievements they have made globally.

“Credit unions have been an important part of Alberta’s financial industry and our communities since 1938. They are member-focused and not-for-profit, financial co-operatives that provide savings and credit products as well as other financial services.

“Credit unions and their affiliates employ more than 3,500 Albertans full time and serve more than 652,000 members in the province.

“They are an important part of our province and play a critical role in supporting small- and medium-sized businesses in their communities.”
