As part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Government of Alberta is reinforcing its commitment to work with community partners to support children and families.
Human Services is extending $166,000 in grant funding through the Family and Community Safety Program to Further Education Society in Calgary. Its project, “New Beginnings: A Parenting After Violence Community Initiative,” is designed to strengthen the work of shelters and other community agencies helping children and families in Calgary. So far, the program has supported 231 parents and 247 children.
