Minister Bilous leads roundtable with small business leaders from Fort McMurray

“In the face of one of our country's worst natural disasters, Fort McMurray businesses are showing incredible resilience and taking the lead in rebuilding their city. We want to be there with owners and workers through the challenges ahead.

“Today was an opportunity to see how supports like the Back to Business Resource Centre are helping local businesses access information on recovery-related contracts, workspace and resources to help resume business operations. It was also an opportunity to hear directly from business owners about other opportunities that we have to help.

“Our government remains fully committed throughout the recovery process to support the rehabilitation of disrupted businesses in Fort McMurray and the Wood Buffalo region.

“Small businesses are critical to the resilience of their city, and in co-operation with our partners – from insurers to the Red Cross, to the R.M. of Wood Buffalo, and the federal government – we are committed to putting in place the resources businesses and employers need.”
