These changes would enable technologists to participate and vote on the association’s governing council and disciplinary committees to ensure that veterinarians and technologists comply with the highest professional standards.

The ABVMA is one of 23 self-governing Professional Regulatory Organizations (PROs) whose governing legislation is overseen by Alberta Labour. It governs both veterinarians and veterinary technologists in accordance with the Veterinary Profession Act.
