This release was issued under a previous government.
Minister Ceci will arrive in Toronto on April 25 and return from New York City on April 29. He will meet with international investors and credit rating agencies. He will also speak at the Economic Club of Canada and Canadian Association of New York.
“I’m looking forward to promoting Budget 2016: The Alberta Jobs Plan in the financial centres of the U.S. and Canada. The opportunity to meet face-to-face with business leaders not only helps raise our profile, but also provides a valuable opportunity to highlight Alberta as one of the world’s most stable and progressive energy producers.”
The stops in Toronto and New York City are part of the Minister’s post-budget tour. Other post-budget tour activities have included meetings with chambers of commerce, non-profit organizations and professional associations around Alberta.
“Budget 2016 has a plan to enhance our fiscal climate for job creation and economic diversification. It is also focused on taking steps to control costs. We want the financial community to understand the global price shock Alberta faces, along with the prudent path we’ve taken to address this challenge, and the fact our province remains a great place to invest and do business.”
The estimated cost for the out-of-country travel, meals, accommodation, ground transportation and incidentals is $5,700. The Minister will be accompanied by one political staff member and two ministry staff members.
